As you may have just read in our joint email, the UFO and the District have reached a tentative agreement on our 2024-2025 contract negotiations.
Impasse has been averted and the District has agreed to everything the UFO requested in our final offer. Last night the executive board reviewed the agreement and today voted unanimously to approve it. We feel good about this agreement and we think you will too.
WHAT’S IN THE AGREEMENT?
Here is a summary of the highlights:
- 1% 2023-2024 COLA and applied retroactively starting July 1, 2024. You will see the new rate effective on your summer school paychecks and the retroactive compensation on your paychecks sometime in the fall semester.
- 1.72% 2022-2023 COLA restored incrementally over 5 years. 2025-26: 0%; 2026-27: 0%; 2027-28: 0.4%; 2028-29: 0.66%; and 2029-30: 0.66%
- $125 increase per month to medical premium contribution for full-time faculty beginning December 2025.
- Ongoing participation in the CCCO part-time health insurance reimbursement program
- 25% increase to head coach stipends and 10% increase to assistant coach stipends
- Significant progress on lab loading. BIOL courses will be loaded at 15 instead of 21 units as a full load beginning 2025-26. The District and UFO will take feedback from the BIOL experience to prioritize loading Category A STEM courses at 15 units the next year. The District and UFO will completely implement loading changes for all lab courses within five years.
- Codifying 32 scheduled counseling hours per week and 17 weeks per semester as full-time counselor load, and defining how COUNS courses are loaded in relation.
- Changes to part-time reemployment preferences that extends maternity leave exceptions out to 3 years and codifies that a full-time faculty member cannot bump the same part-time faculty member’s course for consecutive semesters
